James Lowder

Dr. James Lowder was born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana. He graduated from C.E. Byrd High School. Dr. Lowder earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Dr. Lowder completed dental school at LSU School of Dentistry and obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. Dr. Lowder is Faculty Gratis Clinical Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at LSUHS Shreveport where he is the assistant program director of the General Practice Residency Program. There, Dr. Lowder specializes in treating individuals with mental or physical disabilities. Dr. Lowder is trained in advanced botulinum toxin treatment, dermal filler, and PDO smooth threads. He is a member of the Special Care Dentistry Association, the American Dental Association, and past president President of the Northwest Louisiana Dental Association. Dr. Lowder finds joy in spending time with his wife, Katie, and his three sons, Huck, Camp, and Crew.
Carlee Gilley
DDS
Dr. Carlee Gilley, her husband Jamie, and sons Nash and Hayes currently reside in Benton, Louisiana. She graduated from Benton High School and obtained a bachelor’s in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Louisiana Tech University. After graduation, she attended Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas where she graduated on the Dean’s Honors List and received the Removable Prosthodontic award. She is a member of the American Dental Association and Louisiana Dental Association. Carlee is trained in advanced botulinum toxin treatment, dermal filler, and PDO smooth threads. She has a passion for cosmetic dental treatment as well as general dentistry. When not at work, Carlee enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and staying involved in the community.
Richard “Reed” Moore

Dr. Richard “Reed” Moore was born and raised in Benton, Louisiana where he graduated from Benton High School. After high school, Reed graduated from Louisiana State University of Shreveport with a degree in Biology and then moved to New Orleans where he attended the LSU School of Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Louisiana Dental Association. Dr. Moore is trained in advanced botulinum toxin treatment, dermal filler, and PDO smooth threads. He is a member of the Special Care Dentistry Association, the American Dental Association, and past president President of the Northwest Louisiana Dental Association. Dr. Moore is married to his high school sweetheart Laura Moore and has two wonderful boys, Lake and Dux. While not in the office, he enjoys making memories with his family and time on the water. Dr. Moore is a dedicated family man and takes that same approach to loving and taking care of his patients. He strives to make everyone feel part of the Southern Roots Family.
Mary Elise Fox
DDS, MPH
Dr. Mary Elise Fox was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart. Dr. Fox earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama, and a Masters in Public Health with a focus on Health Policy and Systems Management from LSU Health Sciences Center. After graduation, Dr. Fox attended LSU School of Dentistry where she obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery Degree. Dr. Fox loves spending her time with her husband, Luis, and her parents that live just down the block. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, and the Special Care Dentistry Association.
Morgan VanZandt
DDS
Dr. Morgan VanZandt was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. She graduated from St. Michael the Archangel High School and then attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where she was an active member of the Delta Gamma sorority and several academic organizations. After graduating from LSU in 2013, Dr. VanZandt was admitted to the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans, LA. During dental school, she was actively involved in Delta Sigma Delta dental fraternity and served as President her senior year. Upon graduating from dental school in 2017, Dr. VanZandt and her family moved to Shreveport, LA to begin her dental practice. She is a member of the American Dental Association and the Louisiana Dental Association. She is trained in advanced botulinum toxin treatment, dermal filler, and PDO smooth threads. Dr. VanZandt is married to Joseph VanZandt, also of Baton Rouge, LA. They have two daughters, Vivian and Ruthie.
Andrew Murphy

Dr. Andrew G. Murphy started his private practice of dentistry on June 25th, 1983, shortly after graduating from the LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. He bought his practice from Dr. Walter C. Platt, a long-time resident of Desoto Parish. Dr. Murphy graduated from Jesuit High School in 1975 and LSUS in 1979. During the thirty-nine years here in Mansfield, Dr. Murphy has been president of the Desoto Parish Chamber of Commerce, Desoto Parish Historical Society, Mansfield Lions Club, and Mansfield Crime Stoppers. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association, and the NorthWest Louisiana Dental Association. He is a past member of the International College of Dentists and the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Murphy was also the president of the LSU School of Dentistry Alumni Association. Dr.Murphy married Kelly Thomas of Wheaton, Illinois shortly after he graduated from dental school. They have three children, Jimmy (Leigh), Laura (Brad), and Joseph (Kelsey); and five grandchildren. On October 1st, 2021, Dr. Murphy sold Mansfield Dental Clinic to Southern Roots Dentistry where he happily works today.
